The Grand Finals Concert by Laffont was definitely worth seeing. The set effectively accommodated scene changes, including the labyrinth, which seemed effortless. Beautiful costumes that did not detract from the story were worn.
The acting and singing are top-notch. Monsieurs Andre and Firmin struck a great balance that evoked laughter. Laffont's portrayal of emotions behind the mask was well done. The songs, orchestra, and cast were fabulous. It was hard not to sing along.
The audience responded with laughter to the humorous notes scene by Laffont. The production's fidelity to the book was appreciated as Laffont projected his voice around the theater. The Masquerade Ball scene was a mix of suspense and joy. The audience, just like the actors, turned their heads. Loved the costumes, especially Laffont's.
Despite not being regular theater-goers, we had a great time at the play. It took us on an emotional journey filled with awe, humor, and compassion. We were very pleased with our decision to attend.
